Timberline is Keeping it Green!
Currently Timberline is actively involved with University City Department of Public Works, The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, and The Metropolitan Sewer District in designing and constructing rain gardens. The rain gardens, part of the Water Quality Project, will ultimately help reduce water runoff and infiltration of pollutants into the River Des Peres.
Keeping it Green at Home! Stormwater runoff is any polluted precipitation or residential, agricultural, or commercial water waste that doesn't soak into the ground, but instead runs into storm drains, and then flows untreated into local streams, lakes and rivers. Excessive stormwater runoff contributes to flooding, erosion and pollutants in our waterways. A great way to help lessen the effect of this polluted stormwater runoff is to plant vegetative swales, rain gardens and to use rain barrels. A rain garden is a low-lying area filled with porous layers and planted with native plants which slow down the flow of water into storm drains, and allows greater infiltration into soils, and gives plants in the garden time to soak up, process, and remove pollutants from the water before it flows into local waterways.*Our experts can design these rain barrels into your landscape in a beautiful fashion. We at Timberline are experts at designing these beautiful, creative and sustainable solutions to drainage.
